Sweet like a drink of cherry cola

You may remember from a previous post that I talked about getting this cherry cola shirt. What I didn't anticipate was working with arm holes longer than you'd find on a 7th grade basketball team. Luckily I had my eye on some bandeau bras with a PUNCH of color at Target. Had I any imagination at all I would've paired this cherry cola shirt with a lime green bandeau, as it is I went with the safe navy.
This is a favorite skirt of mine which I purchased several years ago(I'd tell you where but you'd probably virtually throat punch me) but that I've seen become popular this summer. [Super tip B the way: you can get skirts like this in all kinds of crazy colors/patterns at Wet Seal for 10 bucks a pop!]
This outfit is so perfect for the blistering hot weather. Fun, and hey lets face it if you sweat like a hog you won't get pit stains. Who wants an otter pop!?

She’s making history, Working for victory

Jane and I are constantly mistaken for sisters despite our vastly differing heritages. We have come to realize that it really isn't that odd since we have similar hairstyles, makeup, clothing styles....its really only going to get worse when we move in together. Although we have similar styles our style muses are on total different ends of the spectrum. Jane chopped her locks because of the ever present influence of Katie Holmes in her life. I on the other hand tossed my cares and curls away because of the ever fabulous Jean Seberg. However, there is one thing in common that has always stood out from Jane and my style-the classic Americana look. And there really is nothing that exemplifies Americana rock star like Rosie the Riviter. Girlfriend got a look that goes on through the ages, and this, is our tribute to her.

We can do it!

Smoking is BAD. You WILL die.

I've probably mentioned this about 683.9 times before but I really do love Forever 21. For a girl on a budget its an absolute dream. This black lace dress was a piece I had been searching for and found it for a mere $12.99. Whoever said you couldn't be fabulous and college-student-eating-ramen-noodles poor was DEAD wrong. This cheetah print clutch was a gift from my fab girl friend Melissa (also from F21). The ring was even from F21, I'm stingy so I snagged all the $2.50 rings heehee. The only non-F21 item in this outfit were the shoes (they're Michael Antonio), they are my absolute favorite strappy black shoes! I get so captivated by the details in clothing. This could've been a great simple black dress, but instead it's transformed into fabulosity by the lace and the adorable bows. Okay and I know how annoying it is when people just go on and on, and really I have no exciting "ant in the pant" level stories so I'll just go along my merry way. Have a wonderful day girls and boys!

To quote Sharpay Evans- "I want fabulous, that it is my simple request. All things fabulous."

The Young and the Restless

Hello everyone! This is Danielle, isn't she lovely? I've decided that it's a terrible idea to put gorgeous people in your own clothes because well lets just say I may never wear this outfit again. Look at those legs! Danielle was so sweet and so charming that I immediately wanted to ask her to model for the blog, excellent choice right? I got her to wear these fab booties with these great lavender cut offs that I scored at Forever 21 for $12. Since I love the idea of sweet pastels with contrasting black I added this roomie WWF tee. So fun for a casual date downtown! Thanks to Danielle for looking so adorable!

Have a beautiful day!

Ant in My Pant!

Ooof! After a long leave of absence I'm finally back and ready to rock! So color-blocking is THE thing right now, especially in swimsuits. Colorphobe that I am I wanted to pair this great suit (that I scored for 6 bones, at none other than Aeropostale. I know I was stunned as well) with a black bottom. But then I saw this adorable polka dotted blue number I had stashed away and thought it was perfect! Now I just need to find time to go swimming. :)

Toodles!
Eli

P.S. You may be wondering about the title of this post. Funny story, no wait, NOT funny story. There I was innocently minding my own business in a pair of white jeans and fab sandals when all of a sudden I turn to my girl Lauren and say, "Someone is biting me! Inside my pants!" Now generally I would scream this at the top of my lungs while doing some form of strange break dance move. But as it was we were at a church potluck so instead I whispered it while wiggling a bit. Before long I found myself dashing into a stranger's bathroom ripping off my pants only to find that one solitary ant had found his way into my pant leg and was mercilessly trying to bite his way out! Ugh. I thought this kind of thing only happened to children in sandboxes.

Lady In Red

(Forever 21 dress, Charter Club cardigan, Timberland boots)

My oldest sister Dinorah, is the most stylish mother of 3 I know. She's totally perfect in every way and I just can't get enough of her adorable style! ...I'm sorry I just lost my train of thought her only son (11 years old) just walked up to my mom and said, "I have the tightest glutes, go ahead give er a squeeze"
ANYWAYYY back to adorable fashion! Dinorah has it all, and I think you'll agree.
She snagged these awesome boots last fall on sale at Dillards, and this dress, well lets just say I got the wrong size and since it's silk she gladly took it off my hands.
YAY for stylish moms! (Remember just because you're a mom doesn't mean you can't take time for yourself)

Get a babysitter and go out!

Danny Rowan The Great.

I'm lucky to have artsy friends. Among them are musicians, artists, and photographers. They inspire everything I do and sometimes I get to inspire them! My buddy Batman, or more locally known as Danny Rowan asked me to go on an adventure with him in the sun and off we went with his right hand man Matt Brekke. It shaped out to be a great evening and fun night! The proof? Right here.

If you like what you see you can check out Danny's page for more visual greatness!
