Graduation!

Well it's that time of year again when the graduation
cappies fly! But this time around I'll be joining the parade.
(Whoever said graduating in 4 years was possible
was an idiot by the way.) So of course my darling mother
wanted me to send invitations so everyone could
share in the joy of my success, or whatever. But
like any good student I procrastinated making/sending
out said invites. Luckily I've got a bunny of a roommate
and she volunteered (by force) to take pictures for me.
Of course when the time came to take the
pictures I was totally at a loss as to what to
wear. However I always find it's comforting in
these situations to wear someone else's clothes.
Jane is something of fashion icon for me so
naturally I stole this totally darling sweater
and necklace from her.
Even though I can't believe I'll be done with
school in just a handful of weeks, I can't wait for
what lies ahead. Though, no I don't know what
I'll be doing after I graduate, I'm sure there's
a Jeremiah 29:11 style plan for me. So I'm deciding
I won't sweat that jive. That is, until my lease is up.

p.s. here's a couple things I wanted to
be when I "grew up" as a kid:
-Veterinarian
-Cashier
-Marine Biologist
-Hair Stylist
-Waitress
-Model
-Fashion Designer
-Writer for Fashion Magazine

Inspiration Board

Today has kind of been a weird day. Do you ever feel like you've
accomplished a lot but your day is still a drag? That's me today.
So I decided to whip up an inspiration board that contains
things that brighten up my mood when it's dull, things I want
to do, people that inspire me, and other awesome stuff.

Clockwise from the upper left hand corner:
Jimmy Stewart, my classic movie crush he's
adorable and hilarious.
- A super cuuute idea for planting herbs, which I've
 been itching to do lately.
-I love this cable knit sweater, they're just so cozy
to wear with leggings on a cold day which we've
 been having more of.
-I've been almost done with Wuthering Heights for
months now, I wish I had a moment to read it. I guess
I have a thing for tragic romances.
-Oswald Chambers, whose daily devotion I read as
often as I can. This guy goes in my top ten wisest
 dudes category.
-Bed! Oh geez if there were only more sleep hours in the day.
-A teensy tiny terrarium I found on Pinterest, there is
something so calming about little things
I just get lost in my own imagination, pretending I'm a
tiny person able to fit into that tiny world.
-Who doesn't smile when they see a tiny puppy?
If you don't you have zero point zero heart.
-In the middle is a painting. I have three of this type of
painting. Don't ask me what kind it is, despite
having taken Art History 151, I will not know.
What I do know is when I look at these paintings it
gives me the childlike urge to jump into it Mary Poppins style.
And that in short..or not so short is what I'm thinking
 about today. Anyone else?

DIY: Mullet Skirt

I finally did it! At last I've sewed something with a sewing
machine and it didn't look like a mangled piece of fabric
run through a meat grinder! I've been wanting a mullet skirt
for so long, but after searching for what seemed like eternity
in this barren wasteland of fashion, I decided to make
 my own.
Thanks to Fabi of Third World Fashionista I got a great
tutorial in 5 easy steps! I'm not even kidding this is the
easiest alteration known to man. I won't make my own
tutorial because her's is fabulous the way it is- check it out:

(Tutorial by: Fabi Pina)
I've been a long time fan of Fabi, and am an even greater fan
now due the success of this DIY. Don't be afraid to try it
yourself!

Off to decorate for a ducky themed baby shower!
Hope your day is less blizzardy than mine!

Blog the Dog: DIY Puppy Sweater

I'm introducing a new segment to the blog because of
a very special addition to my circle of closest friends.
Meet Lt. Dan, or better known around these parts
as "Weeno." He's the cutest little thing on four legs!
(besides of course my precious baby Sophie)
The Ween and I have been spending a lot of time
together since we picked him up a couple days
ago and it would just be a crime against humanity if
I didn't share pictures of the little guy. So once a week
I'll do a "Blog the Dog" post to honor this little fella.
Gather your materials. All you will need is thread, a needle,
scissors, and part of a sweater sleeve. Make sure it's made
of stretchy material. I used one that was acrylic and wool.
Cut a slit on either side of the sleeve's seam. From your
initial slit cut out two panels, you will fold them under and
sew.
Once the two flaps are folded under, use a basic stitch
to sew around the edges of each leg hole.
Fold the bottom of the sleeve under and sew it
with the same stitch you used to sew leg holes.
Remember to leave the front part shorter than
the back (like a mullet) to allow for potty time.
Be sure to embellish your pup's new garb so they
can strut around in style! I used velvet trim from
the cardigan and its buttons to embellish the Ween's
first sweater!
 Is this cute or what?!
(Ween pictured with his favorite mousey)
Hope this works for you guys too!

Product Review: Pure Clean by Garnier Fructis

This past week, I took a trip to Ulta beauty supply store
(my favorite). I saw this shampoo and its Pure &Clean line
on several advertisements and decided to give it a try. As it
turns out, it is THE BEST shampoo I have ever tried! To me,
it was a cleansing shampoo. It definitely cleansed my hair
from all the products I had used for the past couple of days
and made my hair feel lighter.
However, the best part is the smell! If you like DKNY’s
Be Delicious perfume, you will LOVE this shampoo. It smells
like a harvest of fresh apples. Now, usually, I don’t like my
hair to smell like the shampoo I have used, but this is a
TOTAL exception. I have also gotten a ton of compliments,
which is never a bad thing! To me, there are no cons
to this product and is totally affordable. The line can be
purchased at a local drugstore. If you have been looking
for a shampoo that will exfoliate your hair of all the product
build up, I highly recommend giving this a try. If you have any
other requests, feel free to comment below.
